TOPIC: Problems after upgrading to Joomla 2.5

Problems after upgrading to Joomla 2.5 1 year 1 week ago #45883

I have just paid to have my site upgraded to Joomla 2.5, I am using the Bolt template and have updated to the 2.5 version of the template.

However the menu content is not displaying as it should.

The old version and how the site should look is at www.mpsac.co.uk

The Joomla 2.5 version is at www.mpsac.co.uk/jupgrade

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can rectify this, the guy that installed the Joomla 2.5 upgrade reckoned it was the template but I do not think this as I use the Bolt template on another web site i am in the process if making that is running Joomla 2.5 and there are no such problems there - www.bluesandtwos.net

Any help would be much appreciated.

Gary

Hi Gary,

For some reason, during the upgrade, there are a couple of stylesheets missing in the upgraded version. See the attached screen shots.

If you add these back in, I think it will display properly.

Let us know if you need help with that.

Cheers,
Ed

Cheers for your post Ed

It turned out not to be the style sheets

There is some problems with the menu items - I have disabled some of them and it has given me a workable site but am getting error codes when I try to republish some if them so I think there is still some problems to do tithe the menu.

I have read somewhere that Joomla did a major overhaul of the "mod_menu" when they upgraded to 2.5 and got rid of the old "mod_mainmenu" maybe this is what is causing the error problems with my menu items.

Any suggestions welcome guys :o)

Hi Munkymedia,

Go to Menu Manager > Rebuild and see if that fixes the problem.

Actually, after reading several upon several fixes to this error, I have came to the conclusion that this will most likely fix your issue:

www.designersandbox.com/joomla/when-tryi...enu-_getnode-failed/

Basically the menu with id=1 is missing and hasn't migrated over and needs to be created. Try doing this method.

Hi debtfreedivas,

I'm not sure who munkymedia asked to do the upgrade, however you can see a list of our recommended developers on the following page:
ostraining.com/joomla-developers/

Hopefully one of them will be a good fit.

Kind regards,
Nick
