Hello

I´m using OST Bolt Template and Lof K2 Scroll Bar Module for one of my categories.
senseiyoshi.com/projects/gm2012/index.ph...folio/film-marketing

I want to do 2 things:
1. Hide K2 category display in article position (center position?).
2. Place K2 scroll module position where articles are supposed to display. Now I put it at Bottom module-position.

Thanks.

Hi Andres,

1) Go to your category manager, select the category and edit it, then in Category view options there should be an option to hide the title; there will also be an option to hide the sub category titles, as well as to hide the title of the items within the Item view options in category listings options.

2) You can load the module in the top of the k2 item with {loadposition x} where x is the module position.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hello Nick
I did step 1 without problems.
For step 2. It didn’t work. Differentes ways I tried>
A) Under My k2 category, I created a k2 item. Then I added the plugin {loadposition mymodule name}
B) Under My k2 category, I created a k2 item, Featured Item. Also, put the option, just show featured items (category). Then, I added the plugin {loadposition mymodule name}
C) Under My k2 category, I created a k2 item. Also, installed Modules Anywhere. In My k2 item I added mymodule name. (K2 Lof scroller bar FILM)

For the module> (K2 Lof scroller bar module)
- Duplicated the module and renamed it.
In the options, It was assigned to K2 category (FILM)
For Menu>
- Changed Film submenu from single article to K2 – categories
Any suggestion?

Hi Andres,

1) Great! I'm glad it worked for you! :)

2) Give the following tutorial a try:
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/place-mod...ide-joomla-articles/

It's not the module name, but rather the module position that the module is assigned to. An example of a module position is "left". So if you named your module position, "k2scrollmodule" then you could use:
{loadposition k2scrollmodule}

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have questions.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Andres,
2) You can load the module in the top of the k2 item with {loadposition x} where x is the module position.

Two things you need to do here. one make sure the loadposition plugin is enabled. From your description of what you did, I can't tell if you used the module name or the name of the module position when you used loadposition.

When you configure the module you should type in a position name instead of picking the position from the dropdown list. Create a position name that is not used by any other template. It also should not have any spaces in it.

Are you using the name of the position or the name of the module. Here's the joomla docs. Not very detailed but they might do the job. docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_put_a_module_inside_an_article%3F

Check that and let us know.

Cheers,
Ed

Thanks Nick and Ed for the clarification. My mistake was to put the name of the module, instead of Module Position Name.

Next question:
It works if I use the loadposition plugin under Joomla Category, Home, but not under portfolio>film marketing>

Changes I made:
- Joomla categories - Keep the original structure and categories> portfolio>films
-Joomla articles - Create a new article and placed loadposition plugin.
- K2 categories - Changed name Films to Motion.

Menu
- Portfolio>Film Marketing: Changed from K2 categories to Joomla Single Article, selected article with loadposition plugin.

Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Thank you thank you. Do you know, what can I do, or what am I missing to make it work under portfolio>film marketing category?

If you did everything the same as in the working example it should also work here. Have you checked the module configuration to see if the module is assigned to show up on this menu item?
Menu
- Portfolio>Film Marketing: Changed from K2 categories to Joomla Single Article, selected article with loadposition plugin.

Did you use a different position for this module than the one on the other page? You can't use the same position name twice.

Check out those details and let us know if that fixes things.

Cheers,
Ed

Thanks Ed, again...

Step by step, following your suggestions, I got the module in the place I wanted.

What I did:
- In the module K2 Lof scroll bar which position assigned was mypositionname:
A. Menu Items - I selected Film Marketing
B. Home Page - NO
C. Joomla Content Category - Films (under this category I created the article with {loadposition mypositionname}

Until here IT'S WORKING, BUT, When I got to see one of the K2 ITEMS, it did not show me the MENU, disappeared and let me RIGHT Space next to the content.
Sample 1> Module with all K2 items
senseiyoshi.com/projects/gm2012/index.ph...folio/film-marketing
Sample 2> K2 item without menu and space
senseiyoshi.com/projects/gm2012/index.ph...97-the-secret-friend

Like always... Any suggestion?

I take it both of those pages are not correct? I'm starting to suspect this is a problem with K2.

Also you might try this plugin.
www.nonumber.nl/extensions/modulesanywhere
They have solved a lot of problems with K2 and it might work better than loadposition.

Let's try the plugin and see if that's easier.
