Hi,

I would like to add a little popup when hovering over an ? or an i. You probably have seen that may times: the popup gives the visitor some additional information.
How can I create that: is there Joomla extension for that or is it pure coding?

Regards, Maurice

Hi Maurice,

Those are called tooltips. Check out the following documentation:
www.w3schools.com/tags/att_standard_title.asp

Tooltips by NoNumber is a really simply to use, flexible tooltip extension. Take a look:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-di...ments/tooltips/17548

Kind regards,
Nick

I'm just going to give you the code made simple here:
<head>
<!-- You only need these 2 scripts to get this to function! The first one is the Javascript minified version of the Jquery library :D -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.4.1.min.js"></script>

<!-- This one is the sexy QTip plugin library for JQuery! -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.qtip-1.0.0-rc3.min.js"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">

<!-- Calls out to the function in the library! =) It's always ready ;-) -->

$(document).ready(function() {

	// Maurice - the [title] will pull the title attribute from your element in your input type. You can change this to anything!

	$('input[title]').qtip({
	style: { color: 'black', name: 'blue', tip: true },
	position: { corner: { target: 'bottomMiddle' }},
	show: { when: { event: 'focus' }},
	hide: { when: { event: 'blur' }}
	});

});

</script>
</head>
<body>

 	<input type="text" id="checkout" title="Check out this tooltip pop up!"/>

</body>

Let me know if you have any questions. :)
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

Hi Nick and Tessa,

Thanks!
I think I will test the extension. Looks to me for now the easiest way. After doing all my homework about coding I might try the other ones ;-)
