<object data="/audio/home.mp3" type="application/x-mplayer2" height="0" width="0"><param name="autostart" value="true" /><param name="autoplay" value="true" /><param name="movie" value="/audio/home.mp3" /> </object>
I am using the above code to play background music in my Joomla website. This code works fine with Chrome and with FireFox. However, it will not work with IE.

The site is Your text to link here...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dapster,

I have tested your music file on all browsers of the latest version and it works fine. I am using Internet Explorer 9.

Which IE version did you test on? Did you try testing it on another computer in case it is possibly a browser setting on your computer that might be preventing it from playing? Just some thoughts.

Let me know an update. :-)
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

I too tested it with IE 9.

Thanks! I will test it on my PC later with my fingers crossed.

I just tested the site on my PC and everything is OK! The edit icon is not there anymore. I had a tab opened where I had gone into the Configuration file and set my site offline. Maybe that tab was the problem?
There is a new problem with my laptop as when I go into the site, the music does not play unless I hit the reload button. This is only happening in Chrome. Do you know any way to reset Chrome to its default settings? Or is it simply a matter of uninstalling it and installing a fresh download?

Thanks!

Hi Dapster,

It plays fine for me in Chrome (although it's a bit choppy at times).

To reset your settings in Google Chrome check out the following tutorial:

Kind regards,
Nick
