I am new to Joomla and have 2.5 with the T3 Ja framework and the most recent Purity template. I had also tried another template that had K2 stuff on it but I am now trying to simplify and just use the Purity template until I get my sea legs. I uninstalled all the K2 components and plugins, and deleted the associated menu item, but the K2 subMenu still shows up on the Home page menu.

I also read on OSTraining about using OSContent to delete sample data and menu links for another subMenu: "Portfolio". I checked the box to delete content and menulinks. The content was successfully deleted, but the old "Portfolio" submenu on the home menu still shows on the home page. I went in to the Menu manager and explicitly "unpublished" the "Portfolio" submenu, refreshed my browser. The the Menu item is still there on the Home page. Of course, if I click on it, I get a 404 screen. Yet, on the Joomla Pages, both the K2 and the Portfolio submenus are gone (correctly).

The site is not yet publicly available, but I have attached screen shots. I have been going through the OS Training modules and have not found examples that hint at what I am missing. Help or direction would be much appreciated.

Hi Shir,

Welcome to OSTraining by the way! :-D

First off, since you are using the t3 framework, it also stores it's own set of cache. Have you tried to delete the t3 cache in the backend? It should be a link at the top right of your backend admin panel.

Have you tried to clear your Joomla cache also?
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

The T3 cache link fixed it - thank you. I thought that tiny link was just another way to clear the joomla cache. :) Is there a training module that talks more about the caches? I would like to understand more about when I need to make sure and clear the browser, joomla or framework caches....

Hi Shir,

You are welcome! I'm glad that fixed it!

I only said this because I've been in the same situation before. :-)

Have a wonderful day!
Warm Regards,
