Hallo there,

I'm building my first site and using OSContent 1.4 to provide initial categories and menus with Joomla 2.5 (both latest downloads).

Unfortunately when I mass create categories and menu items with OSContent I'm getting duplicate menu text (like 'About UsAbout Us') showing on each menu item created.

When I create a category and a menu item manually this doesn't happen, and when I edit the OSContent menus the text looks OK and not duplicated. The duplicate menu items appear with all templates that I've tried.

Am I overlooking some obvious setting, or is this a bug?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Regards,
Terry

Hi and welcome, Terry!

Sorry about that! That sounds like a bug that we fixed in a previous version. Could you try our latest version? I've gone ahead and attached it to this discussion.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Many thanks for your reply!

I've tried un-installing and then re-installing with the latest version that you attached - with the same result of duplicated names in the menu items.

The version reports in Extension Manager as version 1.3 June 2011. I notice that's different from the v1.4 of the file, but don't know if that's significant. I selected to copy title to alias - perhaps that's relevant?

What next?

Regards,

Terry

Hi topgrayed,

That duplicate is caused by a bug in the program that adds a "1" to the menu item on the menu manager. Until we fix the bug you need to go to the menu item, expand the Link Type Options on the right, and remove the number from the Link Image.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Topgreyd.

Our forum went down temporarily right after I answered this for you. I don't know if you got the message or not so I'm writing it again.

Oscontent puts a value in the the menu item image configuration. It looks like it's something we need to fix.

Go to the Menu Manager
Go to the menu item you want to fix.
Expand Link Type Options.
Remove the number from the Link Image field.

That will remove the double link names from the item.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Ed,

I've finally found time to look at this again and your work-around works fine - thank you so much! Too bad there isn't a bulk way to do the correction, but at least it's quickly correctable!

Cheers,

Terry :)

Hi Terry,

Great! Glad to hear that! :)

If you have some time, could you try replicating the issue at:
www.ostraining.net/joomla/administrator/

Username: demo
Password: demo

I'm wondering if it's a localhost issue.

Kind regards,
Nick

(sorry for highjacking the topic) A couple of questions regarding OSContent does it work with K2, is it J25 compatible and where can I download it from?

Hi Chaim,

1) No, it only works for the Joomla core. Although, you can import articles into K2 afterward using K2's importer :)

2) Yes, it is. You can download it from the following URL:
www.ostraining.com/oscontent/

Hi Chaim,

Yes it's j25 compatible. It creates articles in Joomla, and you can import those to K2, but it doesn't create K2 articles.

YOu can get it from extensions.joomla.org/extensions/authori...t/mass-content/18000

Cheers,
Ed
