I need to turn a pdf into a form to be submitted through e-mail. Is this built into joomla or do I need an extension? If so, what is the best one to use?
Blessings,
~Anita

Hi, this isn't standard Joomla functionality and to be honest: I'm not sure if there is an extenions that does what you want.
Is it maybe an option to let the 'client' fill in the form directly online and to send the link to the form via e-mail? There are a lot of form extensions for Joomla available to create online forms very easily.

Hi Heart0,

zeebest, is right about this one. Neither Joomla nor any extension of Joomla is able to take a static pdf and automatically convert it to an online form.

What you have to do is use a forms extension from the Joomla Extension Directory and recreate the form so that it is able to work on the web (because pdf are made for print, not for web submission):
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/contacts-and-feedback/forms

The forms extension will do all the behind the scenes work for and create all the code necessary to submit, save, and send the information.

Any of the top 12 on the list are good choices to look at. This is one area at which Joomla really excels and we have a lot of great extensions available to us.

Try to go through each of them and look at their features, reviews, and demos and fit the one that fits best for you. BreezingForms is a very good choice for simplicity and overall dependability, while BfForms and ChronoForms have more advanced features in comparison to the rest.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions! :)

Kind regards,
Nick
