Hi
My guess is that on your new template the "features" do not display because the module positions are named differently. Take the menu for example; on one template the position could be called "position 1" on another it could be called "top-menu". The easiest solution is to look at at documentation that can with your new template or look at the demo site for "module positions". Then go through all your "features" one at a time and check that they are in the correct position for the new template.
The advantage of sticking to one template supplier or one framework is that the positions are likely to be called the same.

Mark

Thanks Nick and JMC
The tutorial does not show the new joomla 2.5.4 format and show I did not see many of these featues to correct it. Moreever it is for duplicating the template already there like bees. But in my case I have a new external template.

I am not clear how to look for "module positions".A little explanation might help.

If you can tell me the name of your template I might be able to help more.

Hello Pradheep,

If you go to this url uni5.co/index.php/en/uni5-schools?tp=1 you will see your available template positions displayed. You only have a few.

top
slider
left
right
bottom
footer

Those are the only module positions where you can place modules. The very center is the mainbody position, and it is used for articles.

If you are placing modules in these positions and nothing is showing first check your configuration.

Go to the module manager and see if all of the modules you need are enabled.

In the module manager check the position of each module and if it's not assigned to one of the module positions listed above, open the parameters and move it to one of these positions.

Check all the module configurations and look to see how they are assigned to the pages. Your choices are to "show on none" "show on all" or "show on selected". Make sure the modules are assigned to the pages you want them.

Assuming that the content of the modules is standard and not some form of php code that would be stripped by Joomla, then everything should work just fine.

If it doesn't you have a serious problem with that template and need to contact the people you bought it from. They will know best how to fix it or could give you a new copy if there is something wrong with that one.

The fact that it stopped working when you changed templates says it's not a Joomla problem, but a template problem.

Check all your settings and let us know what happens.

Cheers,
Ed

Pradheep,
the template makers say they cant anything other than makign it default. I dont want to have it as default. At this point I dont know what to do.
So the only thing you are trying to do is change your template at this point? What do you mean you do not want your current template the default template? What are you trying to change it to?

I was also wondering if you tried setting any of your modules/menus to a module position and if you had any luck?
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

Hi
So you want to use 3 templates within your site. That should not be a problem. Have you looked at the tutorial that Nick suggested above? That will show you how to use multiple templates.
The following should also help.

Hi Pradheep,

You are welcome. I'm happy OSTraining was able to help out. :-)

As for finding the "article" of the demo page, it seems like they are using some modules on that page.

There is a slideshow module and module table buttons being used on that page.

Did your template come with any modules? If not, you should be able to get the same results using the custom html module and using the classes of custom_buttons and the images to get this same result.

Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

Pradheep,

When you say "only the first home page", what exactly are you trying to get on your homepage to copy the example? Is it the 2 columns?

Hi pradheep
The demo site and your site are using different templates.
This I would regards as your demo site.
showtemplate.design-essentials.net/produ...94179744f0fd794a85d3

Your main content area is quite narrow I can not really see it being divided vertically into 2 columns. If you placed the content in the right hand column into the left you would then have more room maybe. You could then use this tutorial to create 2 columns www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/how-to-cr...-easy-way-using-jce/
If you want 2 rows just assign another article as "featured" (assuming this is the front page).
With regards to your images what size are they? I think that they need to be about 900px by 360px. Unlike your "demo" site this template has only 1 full width position for the slide show.

Hope this helps.
Regards
Mark
