It was mentioned in your tutorial that Joomla 2.5.6 can do multiple image upload. I'd looked at the media manager, it still uploads 1 at a time. Am I looking at the wrong thing?

You are not doing anything wrong, it's just a very minor option you need to click.

While in the Media Manager, click on the "Options" button on the top right. Look for "Enable Flash Uploader" and set that to "Yes".

You should be able to upload multiple files rather than 1. :-)
