TOPIC: Move module on page

Move module on page 10 months 3 weeks ago #50484

Hi guys,

Great site!! I have recently joined and impressed with all the content on here.

I was wondering if you could help please, I need to move a module on a page and can't quite figure out how to do it. I have tried to look through other posts and using Firebug, but still can't do it.

See attached a screenshot which explains where the module is and where I would like to move it to. Please can you advise me how to move it up there?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the forum. Glad you're with us.

Tough to say exactly how without a link so we can use Firebug to look at it.

My first suspicion is that it doesn't fit. Have you checked all sizes or margins and paddings?

If you can give us a link that would be a big help.

Let us know.
Cheers,
Ed

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah checked the margins and paddings to the best of my knowledge, but I'm no expert on these so they may not be right.

Here's the link - http://www.ashtonmarketingmedia-testdomain.co.uk/index.php/ronacrete

Many thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

It looks like it's because you have the main content article in tables inside the article, and the module is in a module position that outside the main body content. and outside the table. There is no way to move it up with your current layout.

Take a look at your site showing your module positions. www.ashtonmarketingmedia-testdomain.co.u....php/ronacrete/?tp=1

If I were you I would take the content on the left side of the table in your article, and put that into one or more custom html modules and place those in the left position on the template. That way they are not part of the content, but in modules you can control.

Leave the main body content where it is. Try to get rid of the tables in your main article.

Hi and welcome, Chris!

You can create a module position within your template right below your component area (in this case the article). That should be really easy way to accomplish exactly what you'd like.

How you had an opportunity to go through our Template Design class yet? That's where you'll learn how to add module positions.

Kind regards,
Nick
