After moving to joomla, I put all my six web sites content in one joomla. I have more than 1100 articles and 1000's of photos and and more Audio and videos coming up. Is it a good idea or should I have separate joomla site to avoid future problems.

It shouldn't be an issue :) There are lot of other sites with a lot more content than yours, with this site being one of them (6000+ articles and thousands of images).
