Hi Greg,

Go to your administrator then remove "administrator/" from the browser URL and just leave "index.php". So if you have "localhost/yourinstall/administrator/index.php" make it "localhost/yourinstall/index.php".

Do you get the same result?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Greg,

Did you try restarting your MAMP server?

Another thing to try is turning off your XCache,

(MAMP > Preferences > PHP > Cache)

Hi Greg,

Please try setting your error reporting to maximum in your global configuration, then see if you get any detailed errors.

Nick

Hi Greg,

Great! Please try uninstalling the core jat3 plugins and then reinstall. Make a backup just in case :)

GOT IT TO WORK!!! Thanks for all the help and pointing me in the right direction from you both! So switching the error report to maximum and looking into the MAMP preferences, I snooped around a little and the site worked when I switched the php version to 5.2.17 from 5.3.6!

Any idea why that is?

Thanks again guys!

Greg

Hi Greg,

Wonderful! Great job!

You're welcome for the help!

If it worked for PHP 5.2 but not PHP 5.3, it sounds like the code's not ready for 5.3 since some of the API changes with new versions, etc. Do you have the latest version installed?

Kind regards,
Nick

No different template, last one didnt have the frame work. But I uploaded the latest plugins for the framework... I guess it might not be fully up to date.

This is a recent unsolved bug. On the joomlart forum there are 2 of the same complaints in the past few days without any answers.

Or maybe there's just a new php requirement now :-)

THOUGHT I would update on the latest development on this topic:

So I got it to work as stated before on local host by switching the php version. BUT when I migrated the site onto a live server I got the SAME ERROR lol anyway, I didnt know how to just change php version or if I can on my host provider so I snooped around a little in the forums at JoomlaArt and found a solution (which by the way is not posted as a solution anywhere so had to search deep into threads.)

ANYWAY the solution to the fatal browser error for me was this:

you can find the files in /jat3/core/libs/ :
- Browser.php (with capital "B")
- JSON.php (all capitals)
change to :
- browser.php (with small "b")
- json.php (all lowercase)

Hope this helps in case someone else runs into this issue.

Thanks GUYS! :-)
