Hi I'm new.

I want to learn joomla 2.5.

The tutorials launch right in with screen shots and descriptions of what's in the joomla program. How are we supposed to follow? Stop and start? Are we supposed to learn 1.5 first? Or skip to the video about the installation first, then come back to the content.

What is the best way to proceed with your learning series?

I would personally suggest learning 2.5 first and possibly follow along.

I'd start with the Beginner class: www.ostraining.com/courses/class/joomla-25/j25-beginner/view/

If you don't have a Joomla site, look for the Installation options in the 2nd and 3rd videos. That will give you two ways to install Joomla with a hosting company.

If you don't have a hosting company, there are more options under Advanced Installation at the bottom.

Thanks for the link, Steve. You must've thought I was off my rocker. BUT for some strange reason, the course menu I was looking at last night had some of the videos missing.

The 'installation' module wasn't there at all. Honestly. The contents went from 'Introduction - what is Joomla' to 'Navigate'. Then the 'Create' part started with 'Introduction to JCE'

No wonder I was confused. I promise you I was NOT drinking! First, I don't drink, and second, you have that very useful 'viewed' column, and it clearly shows that I watched 'Navigative the public site...the administrator site...introduction to JCE and the adding images one. the Installation, the bit about the managers and installing and formatting text were all missing. No wonder things weren't making sense!

I'm glad the videos are working for you right now. We may have worked on the site live and made edits the moment you were trying to play the videos.

And I accept that you promised you weren't drinking. If you were, I would have made you share. So that is good you weren't! :-)
