Hello everyone,

Thanks for the excellent comparisons between JomSocial and CB, and for the JomSocial tutorials.

I am using J 2.5.7 and considering adding products that are available to paid subscribers/members with different levels of membership, varying durations, different products etc.

CB has CBSubs which looks very promising however I can't get the Connections to work in the free version of CB (even following documentation to the letter!) so I was especially happy to read here that JomSocial is thought to be easier to use.

While surfing the JomSocial site, I came across jSubscription, RSMembership and PayPlans.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these addons for JomSocial and if so, would you please share your opinions and thoughts?

Thanks so much,

Patsy

Hi Patsy,

You're very welcome for the articles/tutorials. Glad you enjoyed them and that they were helpful :)

There are now a number of very good subscription systems available for Joomla. You can find a good list of them (plus reviews) on the JED Membership and Subscription category. Here's a direct link to it:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-comme...ship-a-subscriptions

However, jSubscription is not on the JED list and I've never used them before, so you might want to double check what their software is licensed under and whether it's open source.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with any of the subscription extensions with JomSocial specifically. Your best bet would be to read through the features, documentation, and reviews and decide based on those factors. I do, however, know that AkeebaSubscriptions also has JomSocial integration with JomSocial groups:

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Nick
