TOPIC: Joomla Easyblog | How to ALT TAG an image with a description

Joomla Easyblog | How to ALT TAG an image with a description 1 year 2 weeks ago #45665

I'm using Joomla Easyblog for my blogging, but can't seem to find the tool to actually tag a photo with an ALT IMAGE Tag, whereby you hover over the picture, and the description of the picture appears.

Please see my blog posting today:

When you fill in the Image Description it creates the alt tag.

If you know a little html, you can also click the Edit HTML icon or Toggle Editor button at the bottom and type it in manually.

I attached a screen shot of the Add Image editor so you could see where the description field is.

Thanks Ed, this I've done already. Little confused at to what the "Image URL" field is for? I'm not pulling the picture from any URL, its coming directly from my desktop, but the image URL is populated with like 10,000 characters before you actually get to the following: alt="German Shepherd with Children and Kids" /></p>

Hi Gosmartyjones,

I was just wondering what happens when you don't use the "image description" field, and write it using html code? Do you still get a bunch of mumble jumble characters showing?
Warm Regards,

The Image URL becomes part of the img tag. <img src="ImageURL"> so whatever you put there is the source of the picture. It can be a full url like yourdomian.com/images/filename.png or it can be a relative url like images/filename.png.

Either way you need to have a url showing the location of the picture.

Does that answer your question?

Ed

ps. send us a copy of the 10,000 characters. Also is this installation on your PC or a commercial server?
