Whenm building menus based upon K2 categories, do I need to put each subcategory in as a menu item, instead of expecting the subcategries to drop down automatically beneath the header category?

Thanks,

Allen Ross

Hi Allen,

That depends. If you want each subcategory to be part of the menu then yes. If not, no. However, if not, then you want to configure the menu item so that it displays sub-categories as part of its content.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

I was hoping that I could create a menu item and a RokNavMenu module for each of the main categories, and then the subcategories would drop downn from the main category when the user hovered or click on the category in the menu. I coming to the conclusion that Joomla does do that; I need to put each subcategory in the menu structure manually. Is that correct?

Thanks again,

Allen

Hi Allen,

Do you have an example of another site that does that or something similar? Having a visual example would hopefully help me to better understand what you're trying to do.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

I am not sure if the attached will clarify or not. In the attached web diagram I washoping to create a menu item for each of top level boxes, and have the boxes/pages/categories under each of the main categories drop down automatically under the main category. Is that possible.

Thanks,

Allen

Hi Nick,

I'm just going to diable the OS toolbar, fiddle with the template options, and then if nothing works assume that I need to enter a menu for each subcateorgy by hand.

Thanks

Allen
