I see this JLIB_FILESYSTEM_DELETE_FAILED
I saw in the forum OST that it could be a worm or a module problem. How to correct both the causes?

Hi pradheep,

Where are you seeing this message?

What version of joomla?

When did this start happening?

Do you have a link to your site? :-)
Warm Regards,

JLIB is part of the Javascript library that has to do with displaying components of the GUI.

According to the link you provided, there are no errors showing on my end.
There is also malware called JLIB .EXE (note the space before the period) which is a worm that might be infecting your computer, which is probably why I don't see any errors on your website.

If it's not the worm, then I would look at conflicting javascripts in the template and the module.

Hello pradheep,

I did some searching and can only find a few references to this worm. It might be another worm called plugin .exe which aliases itself with other names. One of them is jlib .exe

This is the only reference I could find for it. It might help you track it down.

Hello Pradheep,

It looks like you're not alone in getting that error. Seems it happens a lot, but nobody has a definitive answer. It appears to be intermittent, which is may be why it isn't tracked down yet.

You could try these solutions recommended by Akeeba on their public forum.

www.akeebabackup.com/support/akeeba-back...m-delete-failed.html

I tried tracking it down through the language file to see what it was associated with in the language file, and it doesn't seem to exist in Joomla. It also seems to be tied to a java script.

From my research, it seems that the problem eventually goes away. I'll keep digging and let you know if I come up with anything.

Cheers,
Ed

I see your post makes sense, because I started seeing this after I tried to work on language files. Let me know when you find a solution. Thanks.

Hi Pradheep,

Are you using 2.5.4 or something else (e.g. 2.5.3)?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Pradheep,

Please re-install your Joomla 2.5.4 version using the following tutorial (same thing applies for 2.5):
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/how-to-up...min-tools-extension/

That should, hopefully, resolve the issue for you.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Pradeep, I don't know the answer to this yet.

But JLIB_FILESYSTEM_DELETE_FAILED is a constant in the language file, and the constant should be generating an error message telling you what file failed to delete. This is the line in the en-GB.lib_joomla.ini file -

JLIB_FILESYSTEM_DELETE_FAILED="Failed deleting %s"

What has to happen to make this error appear? It's possible it's just telling you that a file in the tmp directory is not deleted, which won't affect the operation of the website. So knowing what file wasn't deleted will help to tell if it's a problem or not.

If some other action is causing it, there could be a bug in Joomla. Knowing exactly how to recreate it will most likely give some clue as to how to prevent it, and whether it's actually the result of any harm. Just because you are getting a warning doesn't mean anything bad will happen. If it says Fatal Error - that's serious.

If you can figure out how to make it appear let us know.

Hi Pradeep,

I think Nick was asking you to reinstall, not update. Did you reinstall?

If you click the AdminTools update icon, even though it says up-to-date, you will see an option to reinstall Joomla. It's not clear from your email whether you did that or not.

Hi Pradheep,

Are you using an extension to show these youtube videos? Did you try to reinstall the extension or check if it's enabled? Did you check to see if these youtube videos still exist in the directory?
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

It looks like the upgrade might have disabled your allvideos plugin. Check the plugin manager and make sure it's enabled.

Also after a reinstall, you should go to Extensions > Extension manager and click the Database tab and click fix if you see any errors there.

Go through Discover and Update too just to make sure. Some of your extensions may need upgrading or their connections reestablished.
