I don't seem to be having any luck inserting a "Read More" inclusion using the FCE editor - i really would like to use an "icon" rather than text - can someone enlighten me a little bit on this... thanks - steve

Hi Shulbert,

Could we get a link to the page to take a quick look? Also, which module on the page are you trying to insert it in?

Technically you can't; however, there is a work around that you can use. Try the Article Anywhere extension:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-di.../content-embed/10799

Then you can place the intro tag and read more tag within the custom html module.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Shulbert,

You're welcome!

Steps:
1) Create the article (remember the ID) and insert the read more button
2) Go to your custom html module and insert:
{article 123}...{/article}
Replace 123 with your article ID.

Kind regards,
Nick

nick - you seem to really know your stuff and i'm getting some conflicting answers when i search this....using J2.5.2... i created an Article and placed it in a module and that all worked great except it's showing the Article name on top even though i chose to Hide Name in Article parameters - this is an Uncategorized Article - this is not linked to a menu item so i shouldn't have to control this there...? what am i missing - cheers - steveYour text to link here...

Hi Steve,

Please double check to make sure all title options are correct and that you indeed don't have any menu items set up for it. Also, please make sure that you don't have the title enabled in your module.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Steve,

How do you access this article? Through a menu item?

As Nick was saying, the Menu item has the same settings to "Show title" which takes precedent over your article settings.

Let me know if this was it.

tessa - the article is being placed in a module using the Article Anywhere plugin - the Article was created Uncategorized and not linked to a menu item or category - visit my link and scroll down and you will see module in place (3 times for example) do you like Heineken? :-)www.storevertical.com/vidir/

I was just viewing your code, and it looks like your extension "Articles Anywhere" is the one pulling your titles.

Have you double checked your options in the extension to see if you can turn this off? =]

If you go to the module, in the editor click show/hide or the html button. What code do you see?
Just {article 123}...{/article} or is there some "hidden" code?
Sorry did not want to jump in but the thought just crossed my mind!
Regards
Mark

i am so glad i joined OS Training - tessa - i checked the plug-in settings as i thought that was a brilliant answer and you were right, it was coming from Articles Anywhere - but Mark was indeed correct - it was in the code generated in the module, it had a "title" decoration tag - i LOVE you guys - you are sooooo responsive and nice!!!!! THANK YOU - steve
