Hi everyone
I need an extension to display a grid of company employees in thumbprint form.
Unlike photo galleries I dont need to enlarge these images, just to be able to link from the image to a new article with the employees full details.
It is also necessary to have a title below each thumb image with their position in the company.

PS The extension cannot use tables to display the grid as the mobile functionality
of the Joom;la 2.5.4 cms website will be compromised.

I have used News Show Pro by Gavick with some success.

Basically create a category "staff"; write your articles include a image. The module will then grab the contents of the category allowing you to choose the number of columns you wish to display. You can set the size of the thumbnail image and choose options to display title and intro text by number of characters or words. You might have to compromise on the text part - if the job description is unique then you could use that as the title and insert the persons name as the first 2 words or you could use the name and job description as the "title".

Thanks Mark for your suggestions.

I have decided to go back to the tables option even though it is not mobile device friendly, it does display everything that the client wants plus I also have to consider how easy it will be for the client to update themselves.

The other extensions though powerful would only confuse the client and their staff, not to mention the difficulty in explaining the finer details to them.

If you have any further simpler approaches I would like to hear from you.

Once you have the module set up the client will not have to touch it they can just edit the article. Much easier than working with tables.
