I recently switched from building a Joomla! 2.5 site to building a Joomla! 3.0 site. I'm glad that I did, because I think making the change now, in the early stages of development, will be easier than making the change 2 years from now.
I mistakenly installed the Joomgalaxy extension on a 3.0 site. The JoomGalaxy.com site is offline for 9 days, so I won't be getting much help from them. But I'm fairly certain that the Joomgalaxy extension was a 2.5 component.
The install seemed to work, and the component menu appears under "components" in the back end admin panel.
Attempting to access the Joomgalaxy interface, however, yields:
"Fatal error: Class dashboardController cannot extend from interface JController in /home/myusername/public_html/mywebsite.com/administrator/components/com_joomgalaxy/controllers/dashboard.php on line 15"
The plugins do not appear in the system plugin manager, although the Community Builder 1.9 plugin manager did show the one CB plugin.
My question is this:
How can I uninstall the component manually? Would there be files in the cpanel file manager directory? Do I need to search the database for the relevant tables?
Can I just leave it alone, like space junk, and hope that it doesn't collide with any of my other extensions?

How to uninstall a 2.5 component from a 3.0 site.

No problem! It would be good if Joomla had some redundant linking from Plugin Manager, Module Manager, etc, to the Extension Manager Manage area :) Think of Plugin Manager, Module Manager, etc, as the day-to-day management and the Extension Manager Manage area as just the "one-time" management area (e.g. Uninstall).
