Hello, I am upgrading to joomla 2.5 and for a reason my titles are all in the my H1. Maybe it has been answered before but I did not find it.

Are you looking to just hide the title? By going into menu manager > article options > Show Title (set to hide).

Thanks "show title" is set to hide. I read that post before and I was more confused. Hiding a title should be an easy setting without having to tweak files.

I found the problem. If I go in the menu item of the article and go to " Link type option and set " add menu title" to yes. It removes it so it was not the title but the text link it was adding.

Now I have 4000 pages. Any idea how I can do it all at once?

Are you saying you have 4000 menu items? Changing the article options in your menu will override all article options linked to that menu.

Do you also have a link to your site?

Also, if you really want to hide all h1 tags from article titles, wouldn't you be interested in removing that section of the code that creates it? I don't think you can do it for your entire site with an option, that I've seen.

I'm pretty sure when the parent menu is set to specific values, that all child menu items and the articles will have the same options as well.

Give that a shot. :-)

You re probably right cause I could not find an option for it. Changing it in the code would also prevent future creation of it.

H1 titles are good for SEO. If the problem is that they just appear too large you could reduce the size in the CSS. If you did this the change would run throughout the site.

No this is not. It is a second H1 that is added to the original one and comes from the link text of the menu of the article.

Sorry I understand now. What version of 2.5 are you using? Presumably 2.56.
Just following on from Tessa's suggestion above - menu manager - options (top right of page)- Show page headings - I know you say it is set to "no" but did you leave the popup page clicking on "save". Just somebody saying on a forum that they had to click save to get the setting to work.

HI Tessa, I do not see more options than "Show page heading" in the menu configuration. Unless I am not looking at the right place.

When you want to hide the title for all articles within the parent menu, you have to open the parent menu in the menu manager, and look at the right column where there are article options.

Going into the article manager doesn't help at all unless you are changing options for one specific article.
