Hello,

I'm working on a joomla site using a free template from demo.hurricanemedia.net/joomla08/

I'm trying to add a "disclaimer" link right above the copyright information that will just show as a pop-up using the plugin "Simple Popup" from extensions.joomla.org/extensions/style-a...pups-a-iframes/17214

I've tried to do it by creating a custom HTML module and putting the code there and assigning a position from the template to it with the "a href" linking to that article, however, when clicking on it, it does activate the javascript for the popup but is also loading the disclaimer article on the background (image attached). I would like it to just popup on front of the current active page just like the sample on the plugin developer's website (image attached). On their website, when clicking on the popup link it just loads the popup in from of the current page.

Can you offer any ideas on how to make this work?

Hi Chikisg84,

What Joomla version are you using?

Do you have a link to your site so I can see what is going on?
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

Hi,

It looks like either the plugin needs some configuration, or it's got a bug. I would ask the developer how to fix it or just try another plugin.

A good one to try is Modalizer www.nonumber.nl/extensions/modalizer

And now there is one built into JCE editor you can use if you have JCE installed.

To see if there is some configuration needed for the one you have, go to the Extensions > Plugin Manager and click the name of the plugin and see if it has any options or parameters that you need to set.

Cheers,
Ed

Ed,

Can you expand on how to do it with JCE? I do have it installed but I can't figure out how to achieve the effect I want.

I downloaded modalizer and tried installing it but it says it needs PHP 5.3 to work and I have PHP 5.2.something so it didn't install.

By the way, for some reason I keep getting the error messages below when I try to install something:

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /services/webpages/util/2/p/2pdrpy1dd.myutilitydomain.com/s2interactive.com/public/joom25/components/com_nonumber-installer-uninstallme
JFolder: :delete: Could not delete folder. Path: /services/webpages/util/2/p/2pdrpy1dd.myutilitydomain.com/s2interactive.com/public/joom25/administrator/components/com_nonumber-installer-uninstallme/installer

kind regards,
Joselyn

Hi Joselyn,

With installing an extension, are you getting the same error for all extensions? And did this just start happening?

Apparently it was a permissions error. I solved it already.
Would you be able to help me around the other issue with the pop-up plugin or helping me figure out how to achieve the same effect by using JCE editor as Ed mentioned in an earlier reply?

Thanks,
Joselyn
