Hi Jew_Nabi,

The database is not accessed via the Joomla backend but rather via your host's control panel. For example, your host might have cPanel. Try typing www.yourdomain.com/cpanel .

Or an easier was is if you have a "forgot password" feature in the front end of your site. Or try going to:
www.yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_login

Can we get a link to your site to take a quick look so that we can offer more direct help?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hey Nick,
Nice to see you after a month again. I tried in my server side control panel and changed user name and password but I didn't get any result. I thing old password is en-corrupted but why new password isn't taking. I tried also with my Old user name and password but not taking also old user name and password. So I can't go into my back-end admin side.
My side is everlastpavingstone.com. Please look at and advise me if any suggestion.

Hi Jew,

I took a look at your site. Looks like your login area is broken and doesn't display any error messages. Do you know how to restore your core files manually? That would be the next step to getting it working again.

What Joomla version is the site running?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Jew,

Make a backup using your host's backup utility.

Then download the following zip file:
joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/17...le-Patch_Package.zip

and unzip it into your Joomla root. That will reset many of your core files (though not all). If that doesn't work, we can try resetting all of them.

Kind regards,
Nick

You should back up your site's files and database.

Yes, where Joomla is installed. In your case, it's the "public_html".

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions and we'll be glad to answer.

You should download basically all the folders and files within your public_html.

No, that's not correct. If you upload the zip file to your public_html, it will unzip in the public_html folder (which is the correct folder).

Hope this helps!

Nick

Hello Jew,

Who is your hosting company? Do they have some directions for you?
Does your account come with a server control panel and a file manager?

Are you familiar with FTP? You should be able to upload anything using an ftp client like Filezilla filezilla-project.org/download.php which is a free program.

It seems that you might be confused about the exact procedure. Your hosting company might be the best place to get the instruction for this.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Jew,

You'd have to ask your host exactly how to use their file manager as it varies from host to host. However, most hosts have a zip button that you can use to zip all selected folders and files and then you can download the zip file.

Alternatively, almost every host has FTP and you can use FTP to download. A quick search of your host's documentation leads to the following article about their FTP:
www.domain.com/knowledgebase/beta/article.bml?ArticleID=201

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Nick

Give the "Uploading files using FTP and FileZilla" a try at:
www.domain.com/knowledgebase/beta/article.bml?ArticleID=201

Yes, I can check, but please be courteous of our time. You should really be asking this question to your hosting company (as it's their software) or your developer. We can only help so much. I hope you understand!

Looks like your host's file manager only has a zip function (called Archive). I've attached a screenshot of it. However, it doesn't appear to have an unzip function, so you would have to use FTP instead or talk to our host to see if there's a way to enable an unzip function (which is a standard function for most hosts).

Hope this helps! :)

Kind regards,
Nick
