You mentioned in an earlier response that I could put my logo in a new html module and adjust the pages on which the logo appears in that manner. But I think it may be a little more complicated than that? I'm using a template that uses K2. The logo isn't in a module. When I swapped in my own logo for the template logo, I did so via FTP. Can't figure out how to remove it from the home page though ... Thanks again.

We'll have to get a link to your site so we can see the template, then we can help you track it down.

What template are you using, and where did you get it? The position of the logo is often determined in the template and they all do it differently.

If we can get a link, we can use Firebug to help track down the location of it.

Let us know.

Thanks,
Ed

How can I get my logo to show on every page EXCEPT my home page? 1 year 1 month ago #45582

Hi Ed - My site is blacksheepalehouse.com. I just made it live but with only 3 menu items active. One is called "Website Coming Soon," and should show the bar's logo on a white background. This will be a splash page. The one called "Home" is not technically the home page; that should show the bar's logo on a black background, plus some text.

A live demo of the template is here:
www.templatemonster.com/demo/38756.html

I set the home page by simply clicking the star next to the desired menu item. Whichever of these three menu items I choose as the actual home page (blacksheepalehouse.com), that page disappears. Or, I should say, the article disappears; the menu and logo still appear.

Thanks for any insights into this; much appreciated.

HI Kristin,

That's great info. I can see what you need to do now.

You're using a Gantry based template. It's a grid system and you should be able to change the logo by using a module position. Check out this tutorial

www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/gantry/

There is a section that shows you how to turn off features. Turn off the logo feature and put the logo in a module module position.

It will help if you turn on the function that will reveal module positions so you can see where you need to put the module. Go to the template manager, click the options icon, and enable Preview Module Positions. Then type in blacksheepalehouse.com/?tp=1 in your browser address bar and you will see where everything is placed.

You might also find this interesting.

For some really detailed instructions on using the Gantry framework, check out the Gantry site. There is quite a bit of help there.

Let me know if this helps you out.

Cheers,
Ed
