Home Page in Joomla Explained guide 1 year 3 weeks ago #44266

Hi,

I am completely new to Joomla and am having a few problems getting started. I downloaded Joomla onto my hosting space using an Ap facility on my host (I didn't do it manually). My home page is not the basic, almost empty page as shown in the book. My homepage contains more information including upgrades and professionals. I understand this is because I have installed sample data in error. How do I remove it from my homepage?

Many thanks in advance

Hi
Loading the sample data is a good way to see how the site works. It is sometimes easier when starting to overwrite articles and change the name of menus etc.
In Article manager the articles that appear on the front page will be "featured"; find the column the looked for stared items within the list. Just disable the article by clicking the status button. Check through the module manager to see which items are attached to the Home page.
Regards
Mark
