TOPIC: Header Adjustment

Header Adjustment 11 months 4 weeks ago #49726

I have noticed that my main Header (where my site title is) doesn't adjust as the page is minimized. Is there a simple adjustment I can make?

Thanks!

Hi FreeFormVentures,

Can we get a link to the page to take a quick look? What Joomla version are you using?

Kind regards,
Nick

I'm not sure what you mean by "it doesn't adjust".

When I vary the size, the books on the right are pushed behind the log so it does adjust that way.

What are you expecting to happen or what do you want to have happen?

Let us know.

Hi Ed,

Yeah, it seems that everything else sort of adjusts with the page size but the main header title doesn't. Instead it overlaps with the photo on the left side of the header box. You might not notice it unless you make it smaller than the default minimize option on the browser. But if you make the page smaller and smaller, it becomes noticeable. It's not a big deal, I suppose, but if I can fix that I'd like to try.

Thank you!

Hi FreeFormVentures,

Would you please provide an annotated screenshot of the issue and also provide the browser and browser version that you're using, so that we can see what you're seeing? Fireshot for Firefox is a great tool for annotated screenshots. Here's our tutorial on it:

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Hi FreeFormVentures,

When Nick asked for an annotated screen shot, he meant one that had notes and arrows and hightlights that would describe what the problem was.

What part do you want to adjust? You can't make the images change size, but you can have divs or tables that expand based on the size of the screen. Your page operates normally, but if you want it to do something different, we need to figure out what actually needs to be changed.

Or maybe you could do two screenshots - a before and after? Or an image of what you want to have it look like plus the current screen shot?

Hi FreeFormVentures,

Yes, Fireshot has the ability to add notes and arrows. All you have to do is right click >> Fireshot >> Capture >> Edit, then use the toolbar to add your explanation.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Nick

Okay, thanks. I've uploaded another screen shot with notes. Hopefully this makes it more clear. I've also attached one of the screenshot with a full screen showing for comparison.

Hi FreeFormVentures,

Thank you for the screenshots! :)

Yes, it's possible. Have you had a chance to go through the Joomla template class and the coding classes? They should give you enough knowledge and confidence to make the changes you'd like. Here are the links to the classes:

Also, firebug would be of major benefit and it's one of the tools I most use. Here are some good tutorials for it:

Kind regards,
Nick
