Hi mark,
I agree - I use FileZilla all the time, however my question is different. When I follow the Filezilla tutorial to gain access to my server I create a connection with my server that I believe is not visible as an account on cPanel FTP accounts page... also not visible in my config.php file, and possible not visible in public_html: (can you confirm this?)
[INSTRUCTIONS: Enter following into Filezilla and click on quickconnect]
- Host: mysite.com
- Username: cPanel Username
- Password: use cPanel password
- Port: leave blank
I THINK THAT THIS IS BECAUSE ACCOUNTS CREATED ON CPANEL PAGE ARE FOR PUBLIC WHILE ONE I CREATED ABOVE IS FOR ME - PRIVATE - CORRECT?
But if I create an ftp account on cPanel page, I can see it in config.php and it creates a file folder in my public_html folder. I vaguely remember that the purpose of creating these types of ftp accounts are to be able to reach the server without filezilla maybe [directly through site or url]? Is this correct?
I Think I have this right, any confirmation or correction welcome
