I just installed the module and when I enabled it, I received this error message on my site:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method RSMediaGalleryHelper::parseParams() in /home/wjyouthp/public_html/modules/mod_rsmediagallery_slideshow/mod_rsmediagallery_slideshow.php on line 65

What does this mean? I have this same module installed on another one of my sites and things are working fine. Thanks.

Hi Cheryl,

This is a pretty common error you get from RSJoomla products according to everything I've read on it.

Their standard answer is to contact their tech support and pay for technical support.

But seems that most people have solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, or removing another plugin that is conflicting with it. Also make sure you have the absolute latest version of the module.

Have you tried any of this yet? If not give reinstall a try and let us know if it gets fixed.

I have uploaded the latest versions of both the component and the module. Funny that the version before this one works fine on my other site.

I'll uninstall and reinstall and see what happens. Stay tuned....LOL

Same problem occurred. Maybe I should look for another photo gallery and save myself the headache! :)

Do you have the complimentary component installed for it too? Looks like it's looking for code in the component.

Here was their response.

This means that the component has not been updated to R3, but the module is updated and relies on functions found in R3. Please update RSMediaGallery! to R3.

Also, please note that support for RSMediaGallery! is not free. You'll have to purchase a subscription in order to receive support.

R3 = Revision 3. Try finding their latest download and install it as you would regularly (no need to uninstall).

Try uninstalling and using the older version if it's working on another site.(use a test site,not your live one). As I mentioned in the first post, I couldn't find any documented fixes and only forum replies where people fixed it by reinstallation.

I have a feeling that unless you pay for support, there won't be a way to get the fix. There's a version conflict and we would have a really tough time tracking it down without their help.

After uninstalling and reinstalling nearly 4 times, I finally got it to work! One other question: I want to insert a particular gallery in an article, but the photos appear one underneath the other. How can I tweak the CSS so that they appear 2 images per row?

I would start by taking our CSS class :) Here's a direct link to it:

Then you'll be able to create CSS similar to the following that will turn them into double columns as you desire:
