Hi everyone,

Can you recommend an extension to feature supporters for a non-profit site.

Something like, a scroller that would randomly scroll names of folks who support the non-profit cause. Not a tickertape type horizontal scroller, those I find annoying. Of course I can look in the JED but was hoping to tap into your experience to expedite my choice.

thanks for any leads :)

Hi Gilles,

Do you have an example of one that you like?

In the mean time, here's a nice looking one that's also unique:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-di...rs-a-scrollers/18221

Kind regards,

Hi Nick,
i tried this one but the "bursting" of the letters was a bit tacky.

I'm also trying this one:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-di...ers-a-scrollers/5608

Looks good but when I add a module suffix in the option for the module, it doesn't appear in the source of the code.

I posted a question in the Shape5 forum but looks like there's virtually no support on the forum.

Can you help?

Hi Gilles,

I'm glad you found one that you like!

I just tested the extension and the module class suffix did appear for me. It gets added to the div of the module. For example, if I use a module class suffix of "_test23" then it becomes:
<div class="moduletable_test23">

Try it out with Firebug:

Hope this helps!

Nick

very interesting... I firebugged it and still can't see it.
I even tried another extension, add the suffix and it didn't show.

I was able to change some other CSS and circumvent the problem.

I'm using a Yootheme template.

Out of curiosity, have you ever encountered a situation where the suffixes don't get applied for whatever reason?

Hi Gilles,

No, I haven't. Could you provide a link to take a quick look? What class suffix are you using?

Kind regards,
Nick

HI Nick,

As a suffix I use:
donor-recognition

you'll find the module at the bot of page:

Hi Gilles,

Thanks! :)

However, I think you accidentally gave me login info for a different site. I emailed you with more details.

Hi Gilles,

Thanks! :)

I created a custom HTML module titled "test". If you publish it and check in the front-end, you'll see that its class suffix does show up.

I also tested the new module that you're using and it also displays the class suffix on a test site.

My recommendation would be to uninstall the module, then reinstall it. Try the class suffix with the default settings for the module and see if it works. If it does, then try adjusting your settings to how you'd like them and check again. If it doesn't work after re-adjusting the settings, then you know that's the reason and you can narrow it down little-by-little to the actual setting.

Kind regards,
Nick

Thanks for looking into it Nick,

I see it working now. What confused me is the params for the mod_highlighter_gk4

Module suffix and module ID

Thanks to you, I'm on track again :)
