I'm using K2 content and want folks to be able to edit their own items on the frontend. (Using Joomla 2.5 with K2 2.5.7.) I've used this scenario before with older versions of each without any challenges.

I've enabled all the proper options that I can see to allow specific people to be able to edit certain items.

However, when logged in on the frontend, the "Edit Item" link is not present in items and therefore no editing can happen. This includes Super Admin access on the front.

I've scoured the K2 Forum and elsewhere, where many folks discuss experiencing this same issue, but very few solutions are posted and no-one has described a solution that is working for me. Some posts talk about making changes to the template files. I've tried this, but it does not work. I've also installed other templates from other companies, just to see if this would work, but still no "Edit Item" appears.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi
Have you been through this video?
www.ostraining.com/courses/session/jooml...og/extending-part-1/
I am sure you will have been through most of these things.
Parameters - enable front end editing
User Groups - set up front end editing
Users - assign to groups
Then you need to set up the K2 User module and publish it. You might be using other login modules on the site but the K2 User module has to be published somewhere.
Regards
Mark

Thanks for your reply Mark.

In my case it was in fact a CSS issue. I was able to resolve it by turning off the "Build Titles Spans" option found within "Advanced" options in a Rockettheme template.

The video pointed out some good stuff, so thank you for that.

Marc, thanks for pointing out the "Build Title Spans" option! I had the same issue - I had already been through the above tutorial but was still having an issue where the title would have "Edit Item" as part of it and NOT as a button to actually edit the item.

I would've never figured that out without your comment, thanks!

Thanks JCM and thanks Marc for reporting the conflict.

That certainly wasn't an easy conflict to find between K2 and Rockettheme. Hopefully it might help a few other people with the same issue.
Ask. We'll help. It's as simple as that.
