Dear OSTraining,

I've been building a custom template and have it working well on my localhost (wamp). I uploaded it to my live site, to find that nothing works. Firebug can't pick up any css styling.

I've checked the paths to the css files and all seems fine (as expected, as it works fine on localhost).

I am runing akeeba admintools, and tried entering an exception in the .htaccess server protection area, but still no joy. I'm stuck.

Any ideas!?

Thanks!

Hi Kristin,

You can use SplashR. Here's our tutorial on it:
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/creating-...joomla-with-splashr/

It should keep your home page's URL.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi
Sorry about that a small error. I am sure that Nick will get back to you later today.
Have you tried going to the extension manager and clicking on the Discover Button.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the
response.

I tried the discovery
buttton, but the template doesn't show up.

I checked the warnings
tab and found this:

'The PHP temporary
directory is the directory that PHP uses to store an uploaded file
before Joomla! can access this file'

I've never had any
trouble with extensions previously and the path to the tmp file is
correct. So I'm not sure if this is a red herring.

I even tried installing
the template directly from the tmp folder but get the message:

'Please enter a package
directory'

Having no luck!

Any help would be
gratefully received!

Thanks!

Hi y8sy,

Check the permissions on the tmp folder. Make sure they are writeable, 755.

Would it be possible to get a link to the site so we can see what's happening?

Thanks,
Ed
