I've read your tutorials (Bolt, HTML & CSS) and have tried to adjust the position and size of the logo. I am trying to center it but it won't move, same with the menu (size, position and color). Sorry I am feeling a little thick on this issue.

Thanks for your patience and help.

That's not the Bolt template, but rather the Beez 2 template that comes with Joomla.

The logo and menu are both showing as centered on there.

Let me know if I can be of help and, if so, how I can be of help.

Kind regards,
Nick

This is crazy, I have checked and double checked to make sure that Bolt is the default template. Could I have the 1.5 version?

You can find the 1.5 version on the following page:

I'm attaching a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

Hi Dhadik,

Could you also provide a screenshot of your template manager? Maybe it will help answer this. :-)

Out of a little frustration I have moved the logo inside the featured article but I would like to understand how to manipulate the header and logo area of the template as well as the navigation bar. I have attached the screen print you asked for.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Dhadik,

I don't see an attached file, what format did you use?

And of course, you are welcome, in regards to OSTraining helping you. :-)

I'll attach it using your attachment (Add file) button

I am impressed by weekend responses. This is not urgent and can wait.

Thanks

Hi Dhadik,

The file didn't stick for some reason.

I will wait until you post again then. Have a great weekend! We say we don't usually work on weekends, but always end up being here at our own time. That is how much we love the community. :-)

third try, any other option getting you to see this. I don't mind giving you admin access if I can send it privately.

This was a 'docx' file type (Word 2010) I changed it to 'doc'

Hi Dhadik,

My apologies, I realized your template issue was because of posting the wrong URL, so this has nothing to do with it.

It looks like your logo is defined using inline CSS. How do you have your logo posted? In an article?

Could you post the code you have? You could also position your logo using CSS in an external stylesheet, but using !important to override any previous styling to it.
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

I was previously trying to place it into the header by putting an image in the image file called logo.png. That worked but the logo was locked into a left position of the header. I want to move into the center and could not figure out how to increase the size or center it. I have the same issue with the navigation bar. I am just learning html and css so it is not obvious to me how to effect a move or resize of either the logo or navigation bar.

Thanks

Hi Dhadik,

Here is an example how you could center your Menu:
#menu {
   margin-left:auto;
   margin-right:auto;
   width:50%;
}

You could probably do that to your div container for your logo as well.

I do not work on Sunday. I just decided to help others out on the weekend here. :-)

And what type of showcase? If you are trying to display it in a module, then of course, you can display anything in the Bolt template, as long as their are module positions for where you want it displayed. :-)

I am still having trouble centering the logo. I was successful in using your suggestion to get the menu centered but I don't know how or where to apply the suggestion to the LOGO.

Also, how can I apply a right hand margin to Bolt articles?

Finally, anyway to make the menu/navigation bar a little larger?

Thanks for your great help.

Hi Dhadik,

To answer these questions, it would probably take some time for me to examine your code. We actually have recommended developers here that will do custom coding for you if you are interested. :-)

Also here is our CSS Course:
www.ostraining.com/courses/class/coding/css/view/

What do you mean right hand margin for articles? Do you mean right aligning text? text-align:right; or simply floating everything to the right for a div block? float:right;
To make your menu/navigation bar larger? Set your width/height for the li larger, or whatever tag it's used to create each cell. But it really depends on how all your CSS is coded. It could be other types of code that makes these changes. :-)

Tessa Mero

By right hand margin, I mean that the article text is right up against the edge of template with no white space.

You can fix that section by using the CSS: padding-right:5px; or the pixels you desire for the appropriate outcome. So #divid {padding-right:10px;} or whatever div it's in, or class it's using. .classname {padding-right:10px;}

You can just add this to your template.css file, but remember, if you edit your template and try to update it later on, your changes will be overwritten.

Maybe it's best to create a separate CSS override template. :-) But for now, you can keep things simple, and make a backup copy of your template.css each time you make changes.
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero
