ok trying to follow the book Joomla explained but it is not working, this may be why i dropped out of school... www.bowhuntingsc.net/joomlaville started the web site in 1.5 but the book is in 1.6 so i tried to have 1.6 but could not find it so i thought it was a easy fix from looking at the cpanel has a place to uninstall so i did and installed 1.7 through quickistall. followed the book and save my article and get this error. "Save failed with the following error: Another article from this category has the same alias" but when i go to Article Manager: Articles there are not articles... i went to cpanel file manager but could not find any file that said welcome to joomlaville. would it be best for me to delete the data base and start over with a fresh install that i know is a fresh install...this way i know there are no more demons to bug me later in life...

Hi Eddie,

Yes, it's probably best to start over with Joomla 2.5 if you installed Joomla 1.7 over your 1.5 installation. The two shouldn't be mixed. For future reference, here are two ways to migrate:
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/how-to-migrate-joomla-15-to-25/
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/sp-upgrad...-15-to-17-migration/

Kind regards,
Nick
