Hi,

I want to assign certain pages to a different template and read the tutorial

I tried to do so (assigned a page to another template), but somehow it dus not work.
Should I also take care of NOT assigning this paticular page to my default template?
And this tutorial lokks like it is for Joomla 2.5, I'm using 1.5. Can that be the problem?

What specific version of 1.5 are you using? 1.5.what?

Did you try clearing your browser and/or site's cache after making the change?

Wow, it's definitely not working as it should. Please try reinstalling the Joomla core, using the following tutorial:
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/how-to-up...min-tools-extension/

That will reset your Joomla core files and hopefully fix the issue for you.

I just reinstalled 1.5.26, using the button 'reinstall 1.5.26', but it is still not working :-(. Hope you still have another suggestion...

Yes, that is a Joomla 2.5 article you were looking at earlier.

We use a few templates on this site and run Joomla 1.5.

To make it work accurately, we use Chameleon:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/style-a...ign/templating/11173

There's a free version called ChameleonLite for 1.5 that would be a well worth your while to test.

Thanks for your suggestion.
1. What I still don't understand, is why the 'normal' assigning to anther template does not work? I found in 1.5.26 the settings to do so, but it does not work. Instead of installing an extra extension, I would rather use the 'normal' assignment way. Is there no way to fix that?
2. One of the reasons of my question 1 is, that Chameleon Lite says you need to the php coding your self. And I am not familiar with php yet at all. And secondly I only need to assign some menu items to another template. So maybe this extension is a little too much. Anyway I'm looking for the easiest way to get it done.
Hope you can me further advise.

1) Sorry, we're not sure. However, our guess would be that it's from sh404sef. To test, try creating a copy of your site then uninstall sh404sef on the test site. You can make a copy of your site using the following tutorial:

1. I tried on another website, witout sh404SEF, but it did not work either. Seems that it does not work at all. At least not in 1.5. Or do you know sites where it works in 1.5?
2. Using the Chameleon extension: will that work for sure? Or is it also try and test?
And yes, I'll go and make some time to learn php!

That is very strange. On your *test* site please try uninstall your JB_lifestyle template and see if it still occurs.

That seems to be the problem! On another testsite (wich does not have the lifestyle template) it all works fine. I will ask the template club to solve this problem with my lifestyle template.
