TOPIC: A problem with my component installation

A problem with my component installation 1 year 1 month ago #44314

I have just installed kide shoutbox v.1.1 component for chat. It is shown that the component was successfully installed but an error message appears at the end of the installation wich says that an other menu element has the same alias and that there is an administration menu construction error.
How can I fix it?

Hi amimarcellin,

Try creating a new menu item of type "kide shoutbox". If everything works correctly, then you're set! :)

Kind regards,
Nick

I cant unfortunately! When installing a component, a menu is automatically installed in the component area!

hi amimarcelin,

You could try looking at each menu item and see if any aliases are the same. Make sure they are all unique.

Do you have any articles with the same name? You might also have to check your articles.

If menu is intalled, you should be able to access it from the menu manager. Check the one that is automatically installed and change the aliases.

Let us know if that helps.

Cheers,
Ed
