Hi,
I understand that the third party extension bugs are out of your scope...but please see if you can give me direction as I am trying to solve this annoying problem with Akeeba subscription.

Every time when a new user registers ...he receives an email with a log in link (by default). When name and password are placed - the error 403 appears. This is not a recurring subscription ....and I have only one level.

Thank you.
Kriss

Hi Kriss,

This may possibly be a bug. Have you updated to the latest dev release for Akeeba Subscriptions?

What version are you using for Akeeba Subscriptions? What Joomla version are you using?

:-)
Warm Regards,

Hi Tessa, I have the latest versions. And I have tryed to download some Dev releases but nothing happens.

All the Dev releases are listed in a page....do I have to download all of them - one by one?

Thanks

403 errors are generally caused when the user does not have permission to access the files in the directory.

In the link Tessa suggested, I noticed that the person who said everything was working used a stable version and adjusted his ACL to a simpler level.

Check your ACL rules and as an extra check, look at the component's folder itself and make sure the directories are all 755. I'm sure they are, but it never hurts to check.

I would try the ACL rules and use the stable version first rather than use a dev version. A dev version may have the bug fixed, but there may be something else wrong. It seems to work for others with the stable version so I would try to work with that first.

Try the ACL rules and let us know what happens.

Ed

You are right Ed....it is an ACL issue....and I still struggle figuring it out......The problem is in the link that is sent out after subscription is complete..., I have set two diferent types of access levels for loged in users and guests....I am not sure if I am going to be able to resolve this on my own....would you mind taking a pick?

Hi Kriss,

Did the changes you made resolve the problem?

I can look at this, but I don't know how much help it would be. It's very difficult to figure out someone else's idea of ACL. Especially once you've already made changes to it. You can send your log in credentials to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

If it's still not working, it might be better if we tried to systematically work through the process.

It would be better to go through it from the beginning. You don't want to experiment on a live site. So set up a test site by making a copy of the live site.

Set the ACL to the default levels. Then let's define your first rule and get it working. After that let's do the second rule.

Of course if it's working; Congratulations on a job well done.

Let us know how it's going.
Cheers,
Ed
