1.5 to 2.5 1 year 3 weeks ago #44811

Hi There...

First of all I want to thank you for such great support and an amazing web creation. My partner and I have started created all of our sites with Joomla.

With that in mind...

We have a bunch of sites that were done with 1.5 and now want to change them to 2.5. Went through the steps of backing up and using jupgrade. The unfortunate part is all of our articles and modules are there but the site now looks completely different. We were using rhuk-milkyway (i think that's what it's called) and now it seems that the template no longer exists. Do we have to completely redo our sites or is there an easier way to go about it?

Thanks again for you help.

Chris

Hi Chris,

You're welcome! We're glad that the classes have been useful! :)

Give our "How to Migrate Joomla 1.5 to 2.5" tutorial a try:

By the way, the Rhuk_milkyway template is present in Joomla 2.5. It may just be that you have to re-adjust the module position assignments which were likely renamed in the 2.5 template. Here's how to find the available positions:

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Nick
