Hi Eddie,

Give either of these two tutorials a try:
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/how-to-migrate-joomla-15-to-25/
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/sp-upgrad...-15-to-17-migration/

They'll help you to migrate to Joomla 2.5 properly.

Yikes, I hope you didn't install over your live site. Did you install it in a subdirectory?

Please, please make sure to backup all your sites just in case :) You can use Akeeba Backup to do so:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-...security/backup/1606

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi ejschulz,

I hope you are feeling better from being sick. If starting from scratch is not an issue I would highly recommend (by me) just starting a joomla 2.5.2 fresh install.

If you have the patience to read the tutorial and figure out how to upgrade your 1.5 site then you are welcome to do that.

Please feel free to ask questions along the process and let us know how you are doing.

=)
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero
