I'm in a real pickle now. I'm getting the attached error message in a view. It started when I deleted a field "type", when there were still items attached to it. I've now removed all instance of the field, and have tried to recreate the field inside a collection rather than just as a field in the content type. I deleted all Contents that used the "type" field, but when I added a field with that name to the field collection it let me add it, but when I try to go add that field collection "type" field to a brand new view I get this error.

Do you have any ideas how I can correct, should I delete the field "type" after making sure there is no reference to it any content anywhere?

Fortunely this in a production site, but still need to figure out how to correct. Will also query the Views Module group on Drupal.

Thanks and I've had a "real" learning experience, Judy

Just an adjunct to this. DOn't think the error is coming from a Views issue or deleting the field, but rather somehing to do with Field Collection. I belive that is true because it was working OK until I added a new field (with a new name) to the Field Collection and then added that field to to the View. Am also getting an index error. Am a bit desperate on this one because I'm in the middle of my department head meetings, but so it goes! Judy

Hi Judy

That looks very similar to drupal.org/node/1401184

That bug dates just from just 2 months ago.

There does seem to be one possible fix on offer: drupal.org/node/1401184#comment-6070834

You're welcome, Judy

At least you know this is probably a bug and nothing you did wrong. Now it's just a question of finding the fix?
