Hi, where do I go in the database (screenshot below) to redirect to my new domain? I can't find the site config. page. Can you help me?

Redirecting a domain isn't something you do in the database usually. Looks like you're using Godaddy. Can you explain what you mean by redirecting the domain?

Thanks
Ed

Hi - Yes, I'm using go-daddy. I've created a test site for my live site. And have copied all the files, database etc. I've also installed drupal on to the test site (or had go daddy do that). But now, go daddy said I've got to somehow tell the data to point to the test site - and upload on it -- rather than keep looking for the live site. I copied all the files/data out of the root directory from the live site server. I think the files/data don't know where to look for the test site. That's about as clear as I can be.

this is the error on the test site now: otice: Use of undefined constant DRUPAL_ROOT - assumed 'DRUPAL_ROOT' in /home/content/86/8932286/html/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 2171

Warning: require_once(DRUPAL_ROOT/includes/errors.inc) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/86/8932286/html/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 2171

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'DRUPAL_ROOT/includes/errors.inc' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in /home/content/86/8932286/html/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 2171

No, the test site is on the go-daddy server. The real site is on a different server from a diff. company. The test site is not working.

Hi Ryan,

Check out these tutorials and see if they help.

www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/drupal-migrate/

www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/drupal-backup-and-migrate/

They will walk you through the steps. As a precaution, using phpMyAdmin, do an export of the entire data base and save a copy to your hard disk.

I have used GoDaddy quite a bit and data base import often gets corrupted. So having a good copy so you can redo the import if you need to is important.

See if this helps.

Cheers,
ed

DRUPAL_ROOT' in /home/content/86/8932286/html/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 2171
I keep getting this error. How do I fix this?; also the tutorials are for drupal 7, but my site is 6.4. Is there a drupal 6 tutorial that will show me how make a duplicate web site?

Hi Ryan

Some questions for you:

1) Did you update the file in /sites/default/settings.php with your new site's location information?

2) Also if your test site runs (even with the error) can you install this module and use it clear the cache? drupal.org/project/admin_menu See if that helps.
Ask. We'll help. It's as simple as that.
