I lost me social media or share widget that was on all my article pages. I went to my sites structure then to blocks. It shows that it is in the right place. I then went to modules to see if everything was enabled and it is. I also went to the widgets section and found that I still had the list of share widgets. I can not get anything to load back onto the article pages. Could I have deleted something?

thanks,

Hi stjohn

OK, so you've been to Sites > Modules and check to see if the module is published? I've sometimes seems modules become unpublished when others are installed.

Also, I see another forum post you made saying that you've just uploaded a new theme. Are these share buttons definitely in a correct block region for this new theme?

I dont know if it is published or not. Where is that indicated? I also don't know which block is the right block to assign the social widget or module. Attached is a screenshot of the widgets section in the structure area and a screenshot of widgets in the modules area. It says that service links is missing. Does this have something to do with it? My lack of drupal knowledge prohibits me from explaining to you in great detail (or detail.) what my problem actually is. So, Is there a way I can just reset the uploaded theme to default settings and start over? I can't really describe what I did, because I have no idea. It was there and then it wasn't. Very frustrating...

Hi Stjohn

To be honest, Widgets isn't a module I've used before. The best thing in this case is probably for us to test it and write up a tutorial for you, explaining how it works. We'll try and get that done today for you.

Steve,

Thank you for the link. This is what I was looking for. I am not able to click the box in the modules section that will allow me to enable the service links. Also, the default name for the widget does not appear in the widgets section of the dashboard. First, I tried to upload the widget but I already had it on there. Second, I upload the service links module. I went back to the modules section to enable and I cannot click the box.

Hi Stjohn
I am not able to click the box in the modules section that will allow me to enable the service links

You have definitely installed this particular module? drupal.org/project/service_links

If so, and you can't enable it, what does say on the right-hand side of the page next to Service Links. Does it say anything is missing?

I've accessed the social media setup before. Now I can't find it. It looks just like the setup process that this module provides. I've also tried to assign each one of the widgets to several different content blacks and nothing is appearing.

Steve,

Ok, I got stuck on step 2. The step that says: Go to Structure > Blocks and publish the Widgets: widgets_service_link-default module. The module: Widgets: widgets_service_link-default module is not showing up.I can't add it to a block because its not there. I will keep working at it. I sent you login credentials.

thanks,

Hi Stjohn

Thanks, that worked.

Here's the problem. The service_links you see in your site is not the same as this module: drupal.org/project/service_links What you see is only an integrator which is part of the Widgets module.

In order to complete step 2 successfully, you'll need to install and enable this: drupal.org/project/service_links

I installed it. I clicked the link to enable after I installed it. This gave me the option to return to the modules page or go to front page. I chose to go to the module page. There is nothing there?

OK, you had some upload problems. No modules at all would install on this site.

Did you move this site from a local server by any chance? I went to Configuration > File system > Temporary directory and it said /windows/ in there.

I deleted that line and uploads should work again for you.

Follow the tutorial through and it should now work.
