Hello,

I am getting ready to do some updates to Drupal. I know that I need to put the site in maintenance mode for the updates, but does Drupal need to be put in maintenance mode to backup the database?

Thanks.

Hi Kcoonce

Yes, that's correct. Here's the procedure for Drupal 7: www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/updating-...-the-latest-version/
Ask. We'll help. It's as simple as that.

Does it matter which I update first. The drupal update or the module updates?

Hi Kcoonce,

Usually updating the modules is best. In either case, backup, backup, backup! :)

Kind regards,
Nick
