Context : Need to half only one contact form for a company website, such that there are options to select a subject via a selection list.

The form submission goes to different people in the company based on the Subject selection.

Examples :

1.If the subject relates to TechSupport, then the submission is forwarded to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ,
2. If the subject related to HR, the the submission is forwarded to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and so on
3. If for TimeSheet => This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ;
4. If for payroll => This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ;
5. If for dues => This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Thanks for your help! Hemant

PS : with what I tried, I think I was able to configure things correctly as per my best understanding, but was not getting any emails form the webform. The emails were coming to my gmail mailbox from the password request and registration feature of my localhost Drupal Install. It will be great to learn from and see the tutotials from the experts. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to OSTraining, Herman

OK, so you're using the Webform module or the normal Contacts module in the Drupal core?

You should be able to do this just using the Contacts module and this tutorial: www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/contact-categories/

I am using the webforms module...

Thanks for the Contacts module guidance. It will be nice if you could suggest a HowTo for the Webforms module as well.

Thanks - Hemant

Hi Herman

My instinct with Webform is to go with drupal.org/project/webform_rules

I'll test it and see if I can publish a how-to for you.

Hi Herman

After a little digging, it seems that no extra modules are needed. Give this a try: www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/webform-different-emails/

Hi Nick...

Thanks for the wonderful blog... I implemented the same as you have mentioned... and I followed the documentation at drupal.org/node/273806. However, my emails are not reaching me on form submission. My env is Acquia Dev Env with XMailServer. Emails seem to be following alright when requesting new passwords or registering users. This is a localhost installation. Did not try it on another host though. Would you know a known issue or fix that can fix this? Thanks.

Ah, sending emails from a localhost is always tricky.

Trying to generate an error message of some sort is a crucial first step here. Have you checked your localhost logs for any error messages?

Hi Nick... I got my answer... it is here, drupal.org/node/1290518 . I was also able to find all my lost emails in my mail-trash.

The emails were going to the trash / spam folder because my email provider gmail, and others do the same as well..., count it against you when the email sender (my gmail ID used in the webform submission) isn't the same as the email's "from" header (that was the xmailserver) . It's a great way to filter out spammers (or worse, phishers), since they usually use their spam servers to originate emails from, say, your bank.

So the things were actually working fine... but not the right way, I guess... Moreover the fix to this issue is to use the PROJECT/WEBFORM_REPLY_TO module. Hope this helps others as well...

Thanks for your help Nick... it was great interacting with you...

I will also now learn to check the ERROR LOGS... would you have a tutorial handy on it?
