Where is the "head' of my website. I thought it was the index.php file in my root directory but I do not see a <head><head/>. I've uploaded some apple-touch icons and need to add the link code.

You're right it's in the head tag, but there may be a separate template for the header area. I don't know which cms you are using but you can look for head.tpl or header.php or somethinr similar. It's probably an include on the index.php.

Cheers,
Ed

using joomla. actually a bit confused on this. This default.html file exists in the root directory of one of my websites (with reference to my hoster) but not the others. There is no head tag that I can find otherwise. Is this a file typically added by the host?

Typically that's a default page so something will show right after you set up the account. The hosting company usually has something like that included in the setup.

The file you are looking for will most likely be in the template foler for the template you are using.

What version of Joomla and what template are you using?

Thanks I think I got it figured out. I thought it had to go in the root directory but I realize i can just put it in the appropriate template(s).
