Can I change this so that the panels are not clickable? make it only navigations are clickable?

I know Tessa helped you with writing some menu code, and she did that on her own time. We always try to help if we can, but we'd need to charge a lot more to support custom coding questions.

We don't cover Javascript, and especially not standalone scripts outside of one of our CMS's.

This does not give you a full solution but if you use firebug in your css you will see
.images {
cursor: pointer;
}
If you comment out cursor:pointer; (or delete it) then you will not get the "hand symbol" when you track over the image - it still shows over the control buttons. At least it then does not look like a link.
