Once my programmer finished customizing my web template, some elements seemed to shift position and spoil the layout.

So she said that was because the site hadn't been optimized yet so it would look the same no matter which platform or browser is being used. And sure enough, she optimized it for the most common browsers.

However, we've had to make more changes to certain components and add new content, and some things again look out of place.

Could you explain how this optimization process works and how often it has be done?

Will I have to optimize the site every time I add new text, graphics or multimedia?

And once my programmer is finished, will I have to be going back to her every once in a while for optimization, since I am a non-programmer?
