We have half our website as version 1.8 and we need it updated. The person who maintains our site sent me this message,
"It is a major update wherein the content can be migrated through a MySQL database dump but everything else (Menus, Categories, Sections, Templates, Components etc.) will have to be manually developed, new extensions/plug-ins purchased, all media/document files uploaded and every hyperlink relinked/checked (perhaps you could help with this). The existing templates can be maintained under legacy support but all the sweet perks of 1.5 compatibility will be not be able to be taken advantage of while running under legacy mode."
Is this true, or is there an easier way to upgrade without have to manually develop our website again?
