Is it a good practice to keep a hard copy of your website?

Isn't this more secure than the daily backups the hosting service performs on their server?

Would this help restore it in case the site is hacked or the server goes down for any reason?

Once you have a LocalHost and a hard copy on CD or DVD, is it possible to view it offline by (a) coping the site to your PC or (b) inserting the physical media and running it?
