When I try to upload pdf files and photos, i get a message that reaads, "Directory problems."

Then i navigate to system information, then to directory permission, which leads me to: unwritable

1) Log Directory ($log_path)/home/vg000web02/17/71/1007117/logs/
2) Temp Directory($tmp_path)/home/vg000web02/17/71/1007117/web/main/tmp/

I need to fix this issue to update my website. Please help.
