I was wondering how to set up expiration dates for my static content such as css, and images used in my template.This is the message that I get when using the Yslow plugin for FF:

Grade F on Add Expires headers
There are 30 static components without a far-future expiration date.

I was also wondering how to set take care of the following message (once again when using Yslow). :

Grade F on Compress components with gzip
There are 8 plain text components that should be sent compressed.

From within the global setting I have enabled gzip. I know that there are plugins which can do it, but I found them to break my site when installed (unless I disabled js compression, and merging).
